Pantaleimon
Andria Degens has used the name Pantaleimon as a healing vessel for her music since 1999. She was born in Caterham, Surrey. She is a self taught musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, experimentalist. Andria composes and plays mostly Appalachian dulcimer, guitar and piano. She is influenced by nature, the human emotional connection to nature, a life long yoga practice, and an eclectic mix of artists from contemporary classical, ambient, psych-folk to rock and grunge. She's recorded four studio albums and numerous EP's and has worked with many artists, film makers and musicians such as Cosey Fanni Tutti, Will Oldham, Hugo Race and Isobel Campbell to name a few.
2023 brings new music from Pantaleimon after a period of prolonged dormancy. The new single and music video 'The Conversation' is out now and is the beginning of a returning to the public arena. The single is the first from a new record due in early Spring.
The Conversation is an offering of peace in our loud, fractured world. A meditation of layered resonation of the Appalachian dulcimer. Tracked and mixed at Andria's home studio in Devon. Andria Says "it's a calling to ones higher consciousness in times doubt, of losing faith, and then finding it again. Also a communion between us humans and Mother Earth because she needs our help more than ever"
“"..like some lost outtake from the soundtrack to Twin Peaks or one of Julee Cruise’s Lynch/Badalamenti classics, and ending things with the titular 'Tall Trees' that feels like the lullaby for the end of a perfect day.” ”
